Suggestions
I started to continue development because I wanted some extra functionality in Lazyest Gallery for myself.
Here is a list of things that I want to add in future versions:
- make use of WordPress multiple file upload feature (in 1.0)
- zip file upload
- Folders and Images RSS feed
- Watermark
- WordPress MU compatibility and functionality
- Search for Images (in 1.0)
- Moving images from one folder to another without losing captions and comments
More suggestions?
Awesome plug-in. Very easy and flexible to use. I’ve got it up and running on my site. Here’s what would’ve been nice to have, some of which I’ve managed to customize already:
- Watermark, watermark, watermark. That would be so awesome!
- Option to turn off the breadcrumb and folder icon that appears on the gallery
- Option to specify a parent page for the generated gallery
- Option to specify thumb size and number of columns/rows to display in the sidebar widget
- Option to display random images from random folders. Currently, all the random pictures it chooses are from the same folder
Here are some issues I’ve bumped up against. It may or may not be specific to my site. Not sure:
- Permalinks – When I click to open a gallery page via a permalink, the page isn’t found
- The sidebar didn’t work well for me. The thumbs weren’t scaled down to allow more than 1 image per row, so I’d end up with a large thumbs stacked on top of each other. I had to manually insert these into a table with a specific size in order to get it to look nice. Note, I’m using it in my footer, but also tried it on the side with the same problem.
- IE8 – Loading any Lazyest Gallery page causes the following error to be reported:

Thanks so much. Hope this is useful!

Was wondering if there’s a simple plugin out there that does this. Wanted to have the ability to have website visitors add pictures to a specific album. A simple form that would upload the pictures to a specified pre-set folder, some thing that would have the ability to also input captions, if possible.
Per-image comments and ranking and title, please…
per image contents and titles is already possible. ranking will be added in a future release
I would love the option to disable the jsquery it adds to the source code if jsqery is already used on the site.
My template makes use of jsquery as well and the gallery (a huge part of my site!) breaks it every time I activate it. I am guessing it’s because of the two jsqueries…
Really sad I have to let go of the gallery. It’s the best gallery out there !!!
lazyest gallery uses the wordpress javascript queue. jquery shouldn’t be loaded twice. Please check your other plugin(s)
Thanks for the answer. I thought it might have been it but as you say it probably isn’t.
The thing is nothing in my installation changed, only the template and I deactivated and activated all my plugins one by one and it turns out to be the gallery that makes the template stop working, or rather the moving panel on the front-end.
I know the incompatibility it’s really not your problem but since I am really clueless and not a programmer of any sorts, could you have a look at it ? I would appreciate it so much. Maybe you see at once what the problem is.
My site is at http://blog.benbrowderonline.net The gallery is currently deactivated so you only see the code of the template/site and it’s plugins.
I really love your gallery to bits.
I think more than 1 “Gallery Page” and “Gallery Folder” can be set.
Wierd, I havn’t recieved anything. I have just emailed you about the fix. I’m hoping that you will be able to reply to it.
Thanks
Hey Marcel, did you ever manage to create a fix?. I havn’t reieved anything by email.
Thanks
Hi Chris,
I’ll resend my message. Could it be somewhere in the spambox?
Hey Marcel,
Got a hot feature request… It would be awesome if Lazyest Gallery had a mapping feature to take geocode embedded in EXIF data and show where the photos were taken on Google Maps (for example).
A fair bit of work I know – but a good feature that I can’t seem to find a slick solution to.
Cheers
Scott
Hi Scott,
You still have SVN access, please give it a try
Hey Marcel.
Is there a way to enable scrollbars for the popup window if the image is bigger than the user’s screen resolution?. Currently if a large image is viewed, the popup just crops it and it can’t all be seen. Is there a way to enable scrollbars?
Thanks.
a fix is on its way to you by e-mail.
Is it possible to integrate an “add to facebook” possibility ?
For example on http://www.missnieuws.be/fotoboek/ it works to use a standard “add to facebook” plugin but for the subfolders starting with http://www.missnieuws.be/fotoboek/?file= it doesn’t work.
Thanks for the good work !
does it work when you activate pretty permalinks in 0.16.0.x ?
Is this this option ? :
Advanced Options / Use Permalinks for the Gallery / Enable this to show Gallery Folders as subpages of your Gallery Page ?
I have enable it but is doesn’t change anything.
o yes it does, the ?file= part is gone
Hey, I’d just like to re-suggest a recent uploads widget that would display the most recently uploaded images. That would be a really great feature if it’s not too much work.
Thanks.
A recent upload widget is not in my planning. Because of the possibility of uploading by ftp, it’s very hard to keep track of upload times.
Would it be possible to add the prev next line not only at the bottom of the thumbnail page but also on top?
The option for pretty permalinks works but somehow not when you choose to go the next page. It still says &lg_offset=17 for example in the url. Is this something to be incorporated into LG or is this something i can set via the control panel?
this is part of the pagination. I don’t have a solution for this yet
Is it possible to show left/right arrows when a gallery image is viewed in lightbox to see other images in the current gallery?
please refer to your lightbox plugin help site
