Installation
Lazyest Gallery is a gallery plugin for WordPress. Because it creates thumbnails and slides on the fly, it is a good plugin to manage images that you have uploaded outside of WordPress e.g. by FTP.
Step 1: Install Lazyest Gallery using the WordPress Installer
In the Admin menu, select Plugins → Add New. Enter ‘Lazyest Gallery’ in the search bar and hit the ‘Search Plugins’ button. In the results page, click on ‘Install’ on the far right of the row titled ‘Lazyest Gallery’. In the next page, click on the red Install Now link. After that, activate the plugin.
Step 2: Enter Lazyest Gallery basic options
Goto Settings → Lazyest Gallery. You will see the Lazyest Gallery welcome screen.
Here you can enter the basic information for Lazyest Gallery. In the ‘Your Gallery Folder’ input box, you enter the Lazyest Gallery directory, relative to the path where you’ve installed WordPress. This is the directory in which you later make the folders for your images. You don’t store your images in this folder itself. If your directory doesn’t exist yet, Lazyest Gallery can create one for you.
Next, select the page where you want to display your gallery. If you don’t have that page yet, you can create one and come back to the Lazyest Galerry welcome screen later. Lazyest Gallery checks if the gallery shortcode on your page. If not, lazyest Gallery can insert one for you.
Hit the ‘Save Changes’ button and Lazyest Gallery is ready to go.
Step 3: Upload your first batch of pictures
Now that you have created your gallery on the server, why not use FTP to upload some images for your first album? Select the directory wp-content/lg-gallery and create a directory within that folder e.g. my_folder
To transfer files across simply locate them on your hard disk in the Local Site window and then drag-and-drop them across into the folder you created.
You can also use the Lazyest Gallery file manager Media → Lazyest Gallery to upload images. But this upload is limited to one image at a time.
Done! You have finished the installation of Lazyest Gallery. Your gallery is ready and visitors of your blog can enjoy your pictures.

hi Pauli,
Something is going terribly wrong. The server hits an internal error while processing the thumbnails.
e-mail is on its way.

http://www.pauliundmena.at
you can see, this are my first trials to make a hp.
thanks pauli
@pauli,
Did you check your settings? Did you make a subfolder as in step 2? Could you share the URL of your gallery page so we can check it?
OR, you can make your first folder in the New Folder box

Hi Dan,
I’ll add ‘friendly image names’ to my todo list.
I guess I need to rename my photos, some of them are named DSC0224.jpg. What I am saying is two part. A new field for photo name, (ex. Sea Turtle) and then description (This sea turtle blah blah blah). That would lead way to another feature, organizing the sequence of the photos in the gallery.

Hi Dan,
I am not quite sure if I understand what you mean with “photo name”. What would you like to change in the breadcrumb trail vs to e.g. in http://brimosoft.nl/gallery/?file=folder_1/rode_roos.jpg ?
Thanks, got it working and I’m customizing it.
I was wondering if there is any future update that will allow a “photo name” + Description.
Also, is it possible to put the photo name in the breadcrumb trail? (or omit the file name completely)
hi Dan,
Please replace the image of the shortcode with the text [lg_gallery]
The image above is there because the real shortcode would trigger a gallery
My gallery isn’t showing. I wonder if it has something to do with my template.

Hi Marcel!
Thank you first for this wonderful piece of work!
This is exaxtly what I was looking for.
I have only one problem:
My gallery is on the right place, and the images are in the folder.
When I klick on a photo nothing happens … only the blxk screen and the loading symbol appears.
Can you help me? The URL is: http://www.orchesterverein.at.
Thank you so much!
Greetings from Vienna, Michelle
hi marcel,
can i send the details (login) by mail or icq?
thanks a lot
@Pauli,
That should not happen. What is the URI of your website so I can have a look?
Hi, i followed up the installation guide, but after the activation of the plugin my way stops, if i click on manage category in wp backend and then the “lazyest gallery” link, i get the following error message:
Could not find any image folders in your Gallery. Please check your Gallery settings
But why? I created a directory called “lg-gallery” in the wp-content folder and a subdir with some sample images… for testrun i also lifted up all rights to 777, but it still doesn´t work…
any body has a solution, this plugin looks so good, i want to use it!
greets
@stone
First choose one of the popular Lightbox plugins e.g Lightbox-2 http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lightbox-2/
Upload it to your site and activate it.
Now go to Setting » Lazyest Gallery:
Does that work for you?
Hi, marcel!
I have a question:
How to use lightbox in gallery?!
@shin,
You put the [lg_gallery] shortcode somewhere in your page.
where do you put the lg_gallery shortcode?
I made the Page.
somewhere on a page is OK
