I have a client with an extensive gallery using Menalto’s Gallery on a non-WP site. We’re going to convert the site to WP and I’m searching for the best way to do that. I found your plug-in because I was looking for the FTP function.

My question is, if I FTP her files into folders based on her existing “albums”, will your plug-in then recognize how they’re organized in folders and create albums for each folder? The current live gallery is at http://www.bonnietarses.com/new-gallery.

    Thanks.

The plugin has been designed around that way of working. Looking at the original gallery, I don’t expect any problems in the gallery structure. Importing captions and descriptions might be a challenge though.

Thanks Marcel. I guess she’ll have to copy/paste some things over. I’ll develop the site elsewhere until it’s ready to go live so that could work. Appreciate the speedy reply. I look forward to trying this out. This is the only way to request support, should it be needed?

OK, I’ve installed the plugin on a test site and I was easily able to get all the client’s albums setup. YEAH! Love it. Two questions I haven’t been able to locate answers to:
        1) Is there a place to remove that blue file cabinet icon and change the language from Folders to Albums?
        2) What “lightbox” works with this? I’ve installed two and neither are being recognized. Or is there a trick? I have it set to show slides in lightbox but get this error:(A supported Lightbox plugin was not detected.)

        Thanks again.

When logged in on the main folders page it shows a random image (which I have clicked as an option) however when I log out there is no image for the folder?

It doesn’t show anything just the link to the folder. And the option ‘User should be logged on to view this folder’ is not ticked.

Yeah there is a caching script, just noticed it updated itself so must be that! Thanks for the quick response.

Hi, I have started my first gallery. I have named an image after the gallery name so that shows which is fab. However, the filing cabinet icon and word ‘folders’ still shows above it, is there a way to remove these? Thanks Simone

Hi all, please see this page:
    http://www.hightideboatparties.com/house-music-parties-photos/

As you can see there’s one folder image then the actual folder list looks a bit stark. I’d like to pull one of the images from each gallery, or give it a feature image within the gallery creation/editing interface, in order to have one thumb image per gallery on the gallery homepage, above the gallery title.

Is this doable? Can someone point me in the right direction on what to change about frontend.php?

    thanks
    Emma

You could upload an image having the same name as your folder. That image will be used as featured image if you choose folder icon in settings.

Thanks a lot for this great plugin, its just what I need, from what I have seen from demos.

The little problem I have is that the “Flash Upload” isn’t working. How can I fix that? I run the latest version of wordpress and PHP 5.2

I have uninstalled and re-installed still no luck.

    Any help, please…
