I cannot find anywhere if this plugin is supposed to work with PHP4. Our server currently doesn’t support PHP5 yet – but I get some errors and an empty filemanager for example. Is this due to PHP4 or some other requirement our server doesn’t meet? Is there a simple requirements listing available?
Thanks for your work!
Luka.
there are some bugs in php4 indeed.
I hope it’s fixed with version 0.16.0.5
Marcel:
Is there anything in my theme that I can check because I do truly love this plugin.
Hi
I’ve checked the page/single.php for the line: and they exist there.
I’ve also turned on the comments box for the slide show. My question is, how can I get the comments like you have it here: http://brimosoft.nl/gallery/folder_1/judo/HPIM1331.JPG/
Thanks so much.
Hi Dala,
Maybe, something else in your theme prevents the Lazyest Gallery comments system to perform properly.
Hi Marcel:
Which theme do you suggest?
Thanks
I cant get the per slide/folder comments to work.
The comments show up on all the gallery pages.
My single.php/page.php is rather simple and includes the comments_template() function.
I also checked the “Enable user comments on slides”, but it doesnt make any difference.
I’m running wordpress 2.9
oops my failure.. works like a charm!
I didnt set the gallery page to the correct page…
whoa.. hold on one sec.. How did you fix this? I have the same exact issue you had.
How do you make your pictures appear, and underneath the text? I have in the gallery displays only the text: (Give the code for this show, please.
and still would like to know how to remove the picture before the word Folders
if you want to show images for your folders check “Folder Icons” in Settings->Lazyest Gallery
if you want to hide the image before the word Folders , add this to your stylesheet:
img.lg_folders_img { display:none; }I had another issue come up…. not sure what happened…. but now my regular gallery pages when I click on the thumbs, it seems to activate the lightbox plugin, however, halfway thru it, it just goes to the full image instead. But the lightbox effect works on other pages, as well as from clicking on the sidebar random slideshow.
looks like a javascript error in the lightbox plugin
Any hints as to how I would go about finding a solution!?
try another plugin, e.g. shadowbox
Weird, I can’t seem to get shadowbox to work at all for me, can’t figure out what the problem might be, it’s probably my theme on wordpress, I’m using a theme called Freemium. Thinking about changing themes now, it’s so frustrating. None of the lightbox plugins work at all, except for LIGHTBOX 2, but it doesn’t work 100% – seem like it work only on some of the pages, but not others, any gallery page that have a lot of pictures with multiple pages, it seems to not work. Any help with this would be greatly appreciate it!
shadowbox and lightbox preload all images before displaying them. this takes a lot of time when you have many images. it may seem lightbox does not work
thickbox could be a good alternative if you have many images.
I had this issue come up, not sure if it’s been resolved or not yet….
I’m using the random slideshow on a sidebar, and I use the lightbox 2 plugin to view images after I click on thumbnails. However, the lightbox window, conflicts with the sidebar slideshow. Is there a way to correct this, so the slideshow image stays behind the lightbox window?
in lazyest-style.css find
.lg_slideshow a.show {z-index:500
}
and lower the number after z-index e.g. to 50
Thanks so much… that did the trick!
I notice now, that the image size of the random slideshow on the sidebar is the same as the thumbnail in the gallery options… Is there a way to change the size only in the sidebar slideshow, but not in the gallery thumbnails?
Sorry, The sidebar slideshow uses thumbs only.
how did make it so you have squared thumbnails? Did you have to set that up manually? or is there a way to have it create those thumbnails automatically?
check “Enable thumbnail cropping” in Lazyest Gallery settings
Ok… I did that, then cleared the cache thru the gallery options and also thru the browser options, and I had broken thumbnails after that… so thought maybe the thumbnails haven’t been created, so I click on the button that says create missing thumbnails at the bottom, and it went to a white screen, after about 10 minutes…. it still hasn’t responded. Would it be taking this long to create the thumbs… I have about 200 images in my gallery? What do you think?
Hi Misa,
It should definitely not be taking that much time to create the thumbs.
What is the size you have set for your thumbs?
Thanks so much… that fix it… I had an inconsistent number before… as soon as I changed it to 100 x 100, it fixed… thanks again for a great plugin, the best gallery plugin out there!

Hello, on my main gallery page where folders are listed I’m not getting random images but the folder icon instead. I have already enabled the “Random image from folder” option in Settings. I’m also not getting the image count, I get the word “folder” underneath all folders. Same problem on the second level of subfolders. I only get folders with the ramdom images as icons and the image count correctly for each folder at the third level. The problem is really on my first two levels, including the main Gallery page. How can I fix this? Any ideas? Thank you! This is a fantastic plugin!
Random images from subfolders are supprted as of version 0.16.0. If you want, you could install the beta version from http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lazyest-gallery/download/
Hi Marcel, excellent, I’ve upgraded to version 0.16.0 and I now have random images from subfolders. The problem now is that I don’t seem to be able to navigate from any main folder to subfolders. When I click on a folder, I get redirected back to the main gallery page and not to the page with subfolders. HELP!!
thanks!
Sorry, I can navigate the gallery now (I was on preview mode, but “live” it works fine)/
Excellent plugin works very well!
I have a demo here you may users may find useful:

so cool!
yep, it’s almost winter
hi marcel, firstly great plug in mate.
i’m using k2 template but seem the commenting for each slide does not work. i’ve check the php_comment sysntax and it’s at the right position similar inside single.php/ also i’ve enable it at admin page. please advise
k2 uses a diferent apparoach to comments. I’m not planning to support k2 in Lazyest Gallery.
Hey, I would like to know how to add a simple function to the script.
When in the slide/image view I would like to set an alt/title text to be shown when hovering over the slide, just something to say “Click here to view original size image” or something similar, where can I add the alt and title tag for the slide? Like in the popup view where it says “Click to close” on hover-over.
Thanks.
you could change line #41 in lazyest-images.php
Hi there
I love your plugin but I have a question and I have tried everything to get it to work – but no joy
I have 5 main folders in my lazyest gallery and I would like to split these 5 folders across 5 pages
How do I do this
I have tried using the [lg_folder folder "foldername"] and every other possible combination of syntax
nothing i can do seems to let me show just one folder
can i ask you to explain how i set a page up to show just one folder from the lazyest gallery – as i am pulling my hair out and there does not seem to be a clear outline of what to do
thanks in advance
Hi again
OK – i have examined the problem and things have changed – your suggestions on the code do work. I had a folder name with a space in it – and typing the name in as it appeared created the problem – took the space out – and it worked
Ok – new problem
I have at root level in my lazyest gallery 5 folders
How can I have one page that shows 2 of these folders with tha thumbnail for each folder, and a seperate page with the other 3 folders presented.
Is this possible – or when you ask the gallery to list its contents are you stuck with seeing everything??
thanks
for the moment you’re stuck with seeing all the galleries. pagination if galleries will be possible in the next release.
ok – thanks for that – can’t wait for the new release then
i have a question: can we limit the number of Album / Folder that will show, example you have 8 folder then 4 4 folder / album is visible in first page then the remaining 4 Folder / Album can be view in Second page.
yes you can, please set the Thumbnails per Page option to 4 in the Lazyest Gallery Settings
Hey, Great plugin.
I have a question though. How do I get the gallery to start with a list of folders, on my site it ends up starting with 1 icon for the folder which you then have to click to get the display you have at the top of this page. Is it a special command?
Yes try the [lg_folder folder=""] shortcode
Hmm if I use the folder short code it seems to display nothing, it knows lg is there because I get the footer when signed in but no pictures/icons, “folder gallery” works fine when I specify a subfoler i.e “examples/specific” but on the top level just “examples” I get nothing.
Fantastic and straightforward plug-in, because it meshes so well with the simple act of uploading hundreds of images, already sorted into folders, by `FTP`.
In IE6(!), the slide show widget will float over the text of the main section when the window is narrow.
I meant to say, when the window is wide – and IE6 users are likely to have narrower screens.
Is anybody still using IE6??
(kidding)
I have no fix for it yet, most positioning stuff is in the slide show javascript, which is a third party product and I haven’t had the time to look into the source code.
Chris,
I have tested Lazyest Gallery slideshow in IE6. I don’t see this problem. Please check your theme.
Hi Tim,
Good point, I’ll put that on my todo list.
Hello, Marcel.
The plug-in is great. The only function I’m missing is moving photos from folder to folder.
Anyways, thanks. Great job!
[...] Gallery Nov 08 [...]
@er, no I can’t help you with nextgen
the gallery cannot show in my website can u help me please???
thanz before…
@AtlantaBarStarz.com
just a little patience we’re almost there.
comments per folder or per image will be possible in the next version.
You can try a beta version. Read more about it on http://brimosoft.nl/2008/10/25/your-comments-please/
I see that the same set of comments appear at the bottom of every picture. Is there a way to have a different group of comments for each photo or folder of photos? This would be a perfect plugin if there is a way to do this.
Thanks!
@Steven,
Hm, Hard to find where to start looking in this Bloxpress theme. A lot of the logic is moved to javascript. You’d better ask the Bloxpress people how you activate coments on pages.
Good luck.
Any idea what to look for exactly and where?
I only have the pages: comments, comments_list, footer, header, index, sidebar and single.php. No page.php available.
My theme does not support widgets since it is AJAX driven and uses drag&drop.
@Steven,
Steven, That probably has to do with your theme. Many themes do not include the comment-template into the page.php
Please compare your theme’s
single.phpwithpage.phpLazyest-Gallery works best if it is placed on a page.
Hi Marcel,
How can I make my Album so that people can give comments?
I made a Page with [[lg-gallery]] in it but now no one can comment on my albums/images..?!? I see that it is possible since I can give my comments here
Or do I have to make a Post instead?
mooi zo
gefixt
hoi,

@Rob,
@Rob,
Hallo Marcel, I just uploaded your plugin, created a folder, activated the plugin. But the install screen does not show up. I use wp version 2.5 in Dutch. I de-activated lightbox. I made a page withe the content [[lg-gallery]].
Did I forget something? Please advise. Thanks Rob
Works for me now.
@el tiki and @Lisa,
WP super cache didn’t deliver LG folders to some OS/Browser combinations. I have deactivated WP super cache for the Gallery. Is it working now?
I have tested LG sucessfully on IE6, IE7, FF2.0 and Safari 3.
Doesn’t work for me in IE7.
No problems with safari on my machine. Does it work on other browsers?
oO ? Gallery here not working on Mac OS X 10.5.2 with safari
