I thought maybe it was a server issue dealing with ampersand codes, but elsewhere in the scripts, it parses both the escape code, and the actual character, fine, hence wondering about a double ampersand getting inserted somehow right there??? Not sure on anything else, am on the clock, and working on something else at the moment before coming back to this… sorry

“Please check if version 1.1.9-beta works for you.”

The problem with the spaces in the directories names is fixed – both widgets are working now.

But the thumbnail generation still fails when the rights are set to 755. On 777 it’s working, but on 755 this is what happens:

- on UNchecked automatic generation it’s like this:

- on checked it’s like this:

I use Internet Explorer and Mozilla-based browsers

@tim
The problem lies probably in jQuery escaping the ampersand in the attr() function. But somehow, strangely, I don’t get that error on my browsers/servers.

I’ll try the new code when I get a chance. Where do I get it? thanks. Nice plugin, btw. Using chrome, you can change the html code that comes across in the inspect element window, and so I took out the ampersand code there and inserted the actual symbol where I previously mentioned, and then the page works… Then I went back into the actual edited code in my chrome inspect element box (right click broken thumbnail=>inspect element, then in inspect element box, right click and edit html), and noted that by golly, there are indeed two ampersand codes revealed, one right after the other, and one is incomplete possibly- thus throwing the error. Not sure where that line is concatenated from, but two ampersands do indeed appear to be being inserted back to back…

Could you please try if 1.1.9-beta-2 solves your problem?
You can download it from: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/lazyest-gallery/download/

Now with 1.1.9-beta-2 in both case (checked & UNchecked automatic generation) with 755 is happens this:

What do you get if you don’t cache the thumbnails?

I don’t think it’s a caching permissions issue, because when I manually fix the ampersand in the source code that my browser runs, and then rerun the page, everything works as needed, and the thumbs are created and shone correctly.

Got the beta, thanks; I will test in a bit. I just walked in the door and am still taking care of normal office stuff first.

Downloaded and installed the 1.1.9 update that you posted. No more error msg, and thumbnails now being generated correctly. Thank you.
