Andy

Hi there.
On a fresh wordpress install, I am finding it impossible to install lazyest. And i love lazyest (got it working perfectly on my localhost) so it’s killing me.

Whether its downloading and activating through the wordpress add plugins interface or uploading lazyest myself, the same error happens when i press activate:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes) in /home/pixelpix/public_html/wp-content/plugins/lazyest-gallery/inc/tables.php on line 141

It even happens when i press delete.
I have checked my php.ini settings and memory_limit = 256M
Utterly confused as to why this is happening.

Any ideas? Need this working by tomorrow or im screwed, so any help would be really appreciated. :)

Thanks,
Andy.

You think you have set your memory limit at 256MB, but your error message states it only has 32MB (33554432 bytes). This is apparently not enough.;-)

Hi Marcel,

Thank you for your super fast reply!
I got in contact with my hosting provider and this was their reply:

“I have copied the server’s php.ini to your account. Further I have increased the php directives to the below values as these are the largest values that we
can provide:

upload_max_filesize = 10M
post_max_size = 16M
memory_limit = 64M

Now you should not face any problem with memory limit while installing
gallery plugin. Please check the same at your end and feel free to
contact us if you have any further queries or concerns, we will be happy
to assist you with it.”

However I am still getting the same error. Actually, its changed minutely to the same error, different line:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes) in /home/pixelpix/public_html/wp-content/plugins/lazyest-gallery/inc/tables.php on line 211

Again, it says its set to 32mb but after what my hosting said…

Could the .htaccess file have something to do with it?
Very confused, and again your help would be really appreciated!

Thanks Marcel,
Andy.

Please check http://brimosoft.nl/2010/12/23/lazyest-gallery-memory-check/
If all fails, please feel free to contact your host again. ;-)

Damn, that’s disappointing.
I tried the methods in that post before I posted here.

It seems you’re certain its the php memory issue and nothing else, at least that’s something I can focus on.

Thanks again Marcel, i love your gallery plugin, like i said before its working a treat on my local server :)

Cheers mate,
Andy.

If my hosting again ensure me the max memory size has been set to 64mb (2 emails so far saying just this), is it a lost cause?

Andy

Asking because if so, Ill need to start working on customizing a new plugin and my client is expecting results this afternoon.

Marcel

Disable some other plugins first.
Or try another host… that understands what it means when you get an error message like.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted

BTW, this site runs smoothly on 32MB. :-D
