1.1

Version 1.1 release candidate

Lazyest Gallery version 1.1.0 is almost ready.

As of tomorrow, we are going to install the new release candidate version to some of our production servers to test the plugin in real live.

The beta 9 version has been extensively tested, and I would like to thank Richard and Baf for their bug reports.

You can find a complete list of changes at the WordPress plugin development log

Inserting gallery to the post and defining “count” of images – limits number of images (so anything besides this number is displayed) from all gallery or for one page?
If for one page – it’s not working, and prev-next buttons are not displayed

        Ok! But:
        1) [lg_folder folder="2011-09-17_den_velosipedista/" count="5" paging="false"] – I can see the pagination. Globally – pagination is enabled (of course)

And you probably have selected the lightbox option. That means that LG will have to create thumbnails and links to all other images in the folder.

So, even in developer version for a galleries with a big number of images there would be such loading time?
Can’t see the results because the development version is still not updated…

          1. Baf

No, because in the WordPress site there is this archive:
            lazyest-gallery packaged: Fri, 21 Oct 2011 13:22:51 +0000
(don’t know how the update mechanism works)

I have plans on this, but this is a big work on testing that. And with it I can’t test LG with 100% pure results ;)

I’m strugling about performance not just for strugling, but I want to have (I mailed this to Marcel) smth like that ability from LG to display Slides:
      http://bafff.ru/blog/wp-content/uploads/2011/10/lightbox.jpg
So, we can see slide-sized-images and comments on it, and so on.

If we can do this (I hope you can make such nice UI) – would it be usable (because of performance) on rather big galleries?

It would work using thickbox. If your gallery performs on ‘normal’ slides, this would be at least as fast.

        1. Baf

So, ask me only one question – still I’m young ;) would be the ability to see images the way like on screenshot I’ve posted available?
Or this is a good job for other programmers to rewrite some lightbox/thickbox plugin to support LG and include comments etc on the clicked thumbs sized image?

          1. Marcel Post author

You’d have to write your own plugin to hook the do_slide filter in lazyest gallery. I could make it for you, but you have to wait until after 1.1.0. But, LG is open source, so you or anybody else could build upon it.

Ok, I’ve understood. If I want my wish-list to become true – I need to shut up and not to search bugs, so 1.1.0 can be relised as soon as possible :) )))
So, do you really can make for us (or you think that I’m the only who can be interested in that UI) that looking pop-up? Will it cost smth?

Can we have names/captions switcher. A way to turn on/off names/captions of the thumbs in the gallery view?
    Smth like
    [lg_folder folder="2011-06-24-royal-cup-all/" cols="3" paging="true" names="false"]
And have this option globally for all galleries and can be modified on the gallery basis

      1. Marcel Post author

if you don’t want to show captions in thumbnail view globally, set Length of Captions to -1.
        Add as option: maybe.

  3. Baf

    Pagination footer.
Current page is editable window. If i enter “5″ and hit enter – I must to enter 5 page of the gallery. Am I right? This is not happens

      1. Baf

This comment of Marcel “Pagination by keying a number in the input should have been fixed now” was about this bug, or not?
        If yes, it’s not fixed…

  4. Baf

    1. [lg_folder folder="2011-06-24-royal-cup-all/" cols="3" paging="true"]
For what “paging” is used? I cannot see the difference between false and true
    2. I have 640 post width. But I can have only 2 columns with 150px width. Why? You can see it here http://bafff.ru/blog/?p=2325

      1. Marcel Post author

Maybe, the width for the list item has been set to 33%.
Trick: set the number of columns to 0 and see what happens.
In 1.1, you don’t really need columns anymore.

    hi,

    However… i installed 1.1 RC4 (zip file reports RC7)

All bugs reported by me works now! ^_^

    Some other points:

    - Bug: If a page with [lg_gallery root="....."] is set as “Your Gallery Page”, warning and link “Let Lazyest Gallery insert the shortcode for me” appairs in the Settings page. I think the plugin is searching exactly the “[lg_gallery]” string.

    - Suggestion: Option to rename folders.

    - Suggestion: In the User Guide, explain how to use “root” (and other attributes if there are any)

    1. Baf

+1 for deep explanation of jure requested information
+ info about linking shortcode of the gallery with root gallery – when to use it, or when not. May be it is usefull to choose everytime you insert a shortcode?

Another issue I have (but may be smth wrong with my settings in the wp-admin/options-general.php?page=lazyest-gallery options page but as I can’t see this page – I can’t write you if there are smth strange) development and RC6 versions – not all thumbs are shows for me (80% are ok, but 20% are not). just the name of the folders are visible, but not the thumb).

Now I have edge connection, may be this is the causer, but now i revert back to the 1.1-beta-9-447996 and 100% of thumbs are displayed correctly!

  7. Baf

hi! Thanks for mentiong of me :)
