Lazyest Gallery 1.1 ready for testing

Today, we have uploaded Lazyest Gallery 1.1 beta 6. All known bugs have been fixed, and a new POT file for translators has been included. Please install Lazyest Gallery 1.1 Beta on your test server and let me know all the bugs you can find.

    “WARNUNG The specified gallery folder does not exist:”

    It also does not find it, if I use “Let Lazyest Gallery create this folder for me.”

          I only know my FTP path which is /wp-content/uploads/foto/
          and I also tried /wp-content/uploads/lg-gallery/
          and both with a “.” in front

            do not use the leading slash.
            /wp-content/uploads/lg-gallery/ is at the root of your server.
            use wp-content/uploads/lg-gallery/

      I found this issues:
      1. http://bafff.ru/blog/wp-admin/admin.php?page=lazyest-comments page is not using default blog time/date format scheme
      2. http://bafff.ru/blog/wp-admin/admin.php?page=lazyest-filemanager&edit=comments&file=http://bafff.ru/blog/wp-admin/admin.php?page=lazyest-filemanager&folder=11.09.18_piknik_v_dendrarii#DSC_0463_JPG brings me to the blank page with “Comments on Gallery” without comments. Why Gallery if I want to see comment of an image? Gallery Have the same issue

      But I see your work and some improvements! Let’s go further! ;)

        1. It uses the same time/date format as the WordPress comment table.

            You have a point there. Changed in favor of user supplied date and time formats instead of using WP core code. ;-)

        It works, have you checked Use image captions instead of file names and Use folder captions instead of folder names in Lazyest Gallery settings?

          Little bug, if the folder was not opened properly, the caption would not display. Fixed in development version ;-)

    Creating “New folder” (example link: wp-admin/admin.php?page=lazyest-filemanager&folder=2009/ ) is not working for me (IE8/FF 7.01)

        I have tested with development version. Still not working (if I’m creating subfolders forn an existing folder) If I try to create folder in the root folder – it’s working!

        I have checked the permissions. All seems to be as needed (with the same permisions NGG have been creating thumbs subfolder for a while…)

          I can’t see this problem on my test servers
          is it possible to make subfolders in a root folder you have made in Lazyest Gallery?

            Hm… yes I can make a subfolder for a folder created by LG. This points to my access configuration mistake?

            But how then NGG was working? 0_o And how LG automatically creates subfolders for thumbs/slides ?

            Very strange indeed, please check file/directory ownership.
            I don’t know how NGG handles this, but LG uses for new folder same permission settings as the parent folder.

            I found a little difference between two folders. Do you have an experience with IIS and NTFS permissions?

            In the folder, created by LG there is DefaultAppPool user thath have read write permisions. On the other folders (and even to thumbs and slides folders, created by “rebuild cache” button) there is no such ACL for this account at all!

            If I give ACL for defaultapppool user – creating subfolders for existing folders working just fine.

            Is this is my feature of win host with IIS 7.5, or a little bug?

    Beta8: FOLDER ICONS ARE SHOWN WITH LOCKS

    What am I doing wrong … this only happens with the beta versions:
    For changing the LG settings I use IE7, for browsing the homepage I use Firfox 7.0.1. Ftp is done with filezilla..
    - I deactivated and deleted the Plugin folder 1.0.46.1
    - deleted all captions and thumbs (FTP)
    - copied beta8 to plugins dir with ftp
    - enabled plugin
    - set LG folder to ../uploads/foto/
    Firefefox does not show any photos, links and folder icons are displayed.
    - FOLDER ICONS ARE SHOWN WITH LOCKS
    This is the same situation my frieds experince when they browse my page
    - as soon as I log into my WP account with firefox the locks are gone and the photos are displayed

      Please check “Minimum level to view the gallery” for the gallery and folders

        As said it works fine with 1.046

        I use it german WP ..
        - one WP page (containnig LG) is set to public another one is set to private (all icons show locks)
        - In the LG Management the visible icon is shown …
        - there are no Users or Admins added in the LG settings

        - on which page can I find “Minimum level…”.

          Have somthing similar, I think, but I can’t remember how I fix it

          Try to change visibility of the gallery off and on

      I testd again – and I think I know the prob now:
      - I installed 1.0.46.2 > all folders can be reached
      - I deactivated 1046 and uploaded beta8
      - I activated beta8 > all folders can be reached

      - I deactivated beta8 and deleted 1046 with the help of the WP plugins menue
      - I deleted all captions via FTP
      - I activated beta8 and had to enter my foto folder
      - I deactivated all caching options in LG settings
      - I waited until all captions where built again (checked via FTP)
      - I pressed build database in LG settings,
      > all folders shown with LOCKS

      - I went to structure page, all folders show the visible icon and are free for “all visitors”

      Here it comes:
      As soon as I press the “update folder” button on strucutre page (without changing any of the folder settings) this particular folder (NOT ITS SUBFOLDERS) becomes visible (no lock shown)

      BUG: So I think rebuilding the database does not read / update the folders visibility / rights options…

      As I dont want to manually update all folders I step back to 1046 in the meantime …

          - I saved some captions before deactivating 1046 and deleting cations and saved the same
          - after activation of beta8 and rebuilding database
          - when locks where gone = after updating the top level and clicking on subfolder link

          >>> they are 100% identical.

          I try to post theme here, but I think the xml code will be interpreted !!!

            next try:
            - I deactivated b8, deleted captions, renamed the root foto folder and activaeted b8 again
            - I had to enter the new root folder
            >> no cations were generated
            - “build database”
            >> no cations were generated
            - “clear cache”
            >> captions are built, but look diffrent

            root-, 1st level and subfolder look about the same, example of subfolder containing photos (they are not catured !!)

          no, LG doesn’t generate captions that way

          this only deletes thumbs and/or slides and does not build captions

          Please download the development version and leave it for a while. Repeating the same bug report doesn’t make me work harder…

            but I am pretty sure, that only when I clicked “clear cache”, captions were built, but they look different … see post

            did not want to push .. just help to determine the prob … sorry language prob ;-)

        When you delete 1.0.46, it will also remove all lazyest gallery settings, all thumbs and all captions files.
        The rebuild database does not change the viewer settings for folders.

          In may case it does not delete the captions. Maybe beacuse the photos are not in uploads/lg-gallery…

          I just deativated and deleted 1046 again to give Marcel an example file … soon

    Can we discuss your comments system. Do not use if for a long time, but have many questions even now :)

    1. I have a comment to my image. I go to the admin.php?page=lazyest-comments and I can’t figure out to what image/gallery is it! I think that in 1.0.46 that was working.
    2. Commenting without subscription – is a fiction. Without it it’s just another nobody usefull query to database… I write comments to many sites/images/posts a day. If I can’t subscribe in any way – I just don’t remember tomorrow where I was commenting yesterday. But in comments there are many usefull discussions that can help you in some way etc etc etc… So. Did you plan smth for that? Because we have some great subscriptions plugin for WordPress, but without exact link to the gallery/image from where new comment have arrived. But now all comments are from page created for root LG gallery listing – so where is no way to understand where I can find this usefull comment. Any ideas?

        THis is for 1. or 3?

        I very want to hear your vision about 2. Because I think that this is very important.
        I know I can’t create somethink like facebook.com, but I want users in my site to comment and know about replies to their comments for fotos

          Lazyest gallery filters the get_comment_link() function for WordPress and returns the full path to a gallery folder/image. Any plugin plugin that calls this function should get the correct link.
          It works for stuff like recent comments. I don’t know ho the subscription plugins work internally.
