Lazyest Gallery 0.10.2

After publishing the new version on the web users found out that the plugin contained a lot of bugs.

Version 0.10.2 fixes errors in assessing the user level.
The built in admin user account didn't report the right level. Admin couldn't access the Lazyest-Gallery pages in wp-admin. Other user with administrator privileges didn't run into troubles. current_user_can() replaces $user_level

Also the file date routine has been updated because it couldn't handle files with spaces in the name.

Download lazyest-gallery-0.10.2.zip

I'll keep on looking in the code for more things that do not work the way they should in version 2.5

    @Marcel&Marcel
    That is just confusing :) .

    @Marcel (brimosoft)
    The last I heard from KeyTwo was that he had a new job and at the same time lost a lot of development code (possibly for lazyest gallery 10.0). I think he’s given up on the project ever since. I’m sure he won’t mind that you pick up where he left off.

    @Thaya,
    That was actually another Marcel ;-)
    I will continue development. There are some things I really like to ad, like sortable folders. I haven’t seen or heard anything from the original developers (KeyTwo), not even after I published this new version.

    @Marcel
    The load time of the admin page already existed in previous versions, I think it is because many many options are being read from the database.

    @Marcel

    In previous post you said,

    “THANK YOU for continuing the development of lazyest gallery!!!

    I’ve spent some minutes to get the gallery working with wp2.5 but the admin-page needed a huge amount of time to load…

    Well thank you again for continuing!”

    So who’s actually continuing the development? You or?

    This is not a part of the source code that I have touched (yet).

    since I updated from the original version, the plugin doesn’t take in account my Maximum slides width/height

    anyone with the same problem?

    @Thaya,
    I’ll look into that, but can’t make any promises when it will be implemented,

    Lazyest Gallery is by far the best gallery out there, but it does have some short-comings. Marcel, thank you for picking up Lazyest Gallery development. I wanted to do it myself but never had the chance/time. Do you have a future wish list somewhere online? I would like to make a feature request to have a button in the options that automatically regenerates all thumbnails and slides (so page loads won’t take too long for first picture views).

    @Tom,
    I am aware of this issue and it is on my whish list to tackle in the future. The way KeyTwo implemented how captions are being stored in xml files causes this behaviour.
    In the latest beta version, the captions are stored as CDATA. “Umlaute” (ä, ö, ü) should work now.
    Look for version 0.10.3 on the developing page
    See it working in the Gallery

    Hello,
    if i using german “Umlaute” (ä, ö, ü) these letters would not be properly shown in gallery.
    Can you supporting this?
    (Sorry for my bad englisch)
    Greetings and many thanks, Tom
